This elegant and beautiful fish is probably one of the most well known fish more renowned for its aggressive behaviour towards other males than for its exceptional colour and beautiful long fins. It is a strict rule that males can only be kept one per tank. Inhabitants must be carefully selected as this fish is prone to being nipped by such fish as tiger barbs. This fish is a bubble nest builder which the male will guard the eggs after spawning. Many variants of this fish are available in today’s market. It would be a good idea to feed this individual on Nutrafin max Betta Food, freeze dried tubifex cubes or frozen food. We recommended keeping at least two females to every male. A must for any aquarist.
